Eyebrow Makeup

Eyebrow makeup is to enhance and fill in your eyebrows. It comes in many types and colors. Many women pluck their eyebrows to give them a good shape and then do nothing more when applying their make up.

There are several good ways of using eyebrow make up to bring out the beauty of your eye area and this balances the look of your whole face.

Eyebrow Pencils

An eyebrow pencil can look harsh if you don’t apply it properly. It’s best to use a sharp pencil and use soft, short strokes. Use a firm eyebrow brush to make sure the pencil is well blended. Avoid adding to the top or the bottom of the brows and don’t come further inwards than the inner corner of the eye.

Eyebrow Powder

Powder gives a more natural look than pencil, when it comes to the eyebrows. This is best applied with an angled eye brush and blended with an eyebrow blush afterwards. If your eyes are small, heavy-looking eyebrows are a bad idea, so be careful not to apply too much color.

Eyebrow Gel

This is used over the top of eyebrow pencil or powder but you don’t really need it unless your eyebrow hairs tend to stick out in unwanted directions! You can use a clear mascara or a little Vaseline if you don’t have a specific eyebrow gel.

Eyebrow Color Tubes

You can get eyebrow color in tubes like mascara, which only takes a couple of seconds to apply.

Eyebrow Dye

If you want to dye your eyebrows permanently, you should get this done professionally. It is too dangerous to attempt yourself because of the harsh chemicals being used so close to your eyes. You will need to get this done every four to six weeks, as the hairs drop out and are replaced.

Which Color is Best for Me?

It is not always necessary to match your hair to your eyebrows, although sometimes this does suit you the best. As a rule, eyebrows should be a couple of shades lighter than the hair on your head. If you have blonde or gray hair, the opposite is true.

If your hair is blonde, generally, overly dark eyebrows will look unnatural so just a blonde pencil or powder will help to make them look stronger. Although, some people with blond hair like to make their eyebrows a little darker to match their darker roots as this can give a good effect.

Darker blonde or light brown hair goes well with a light brown powder. Soft black eyebrow makeup is nice with black hair. Blonde or light brown goes well with light gray hair, depending on the amount of gray on your head. Blonde eyebrow make up suits most natural redheads but not-so-natural ones can get away with auburn eyebrow shades!

I hope these ideas for eyebrow makeup will help you in your pursuit to look your best.
